Li River Cruise

Spend day 2 soaking up the natural beauty of Guilin by taking the Li River Cruise, the essence part of Li River. Your guide will meet you at the lobby to take you to Zhujiang Pier in the morning and the cruise will arrive in Yangshuo County after 4 hours. Along the Li River, the combination of hills with special shapes and crystal water makes a beautiful landscape. The deck on the cruise offers a good angle for photography. Lunch is included on the cruise. The guide and the driver will drive you back to the hotel in Guilin. Spare Time Choice: See Yangshuo scenery in a different way— biking on the country roads. Two hours would be enough to explore Yangshuo on wheels.

After a whole day of absorbing the fresh air of Li River and Yangshuo, today you will have an essence tour of Guilin city. First visit Reed Flute Cave that symbolizes Guilin Karst landform. Then head down to Elephant Trunk Hill Park to see the landmark site of Guilin. Elephant Trunk Hill resembles a trunk sucking water from Li River. Finally go to mountain top of Fubo Hill to have a bird’s-eye view of Guilin City. End Guilin trip by taking flight to Chongqing. Your guide will transfer you to the airport and the Chongqing guide will be ready at the airport to pick you up.

Dazu Rock Carvings

An exploration of Dazu Grottoes is arranged today. They are located in Dazu County, which is 83 km to the west of Chongqing. The stone sculptures were carved during the Tang Dynasty（618-907）and the Song Dynasty, featuring the theme of Buddhist. Its counterpart in North China is Dunhuang Grottos. A lunch in local Restaurant that notable for Sichuan food is included. After the sightseeing to Dazu, the guide will help you to board the Yangtze Cruise— CH Victoria, a 4-star cruise. --Shibaozhai, literally means Stone Treasure Fortress, Located in Zhong County, it was first built in Qing Dynasty in 1750. Shibaozhai is one historic site that will look much different in 2009. The wooden architecture stands on the riverside. It is built by catch upon a rectangular rock with sheer cliffs with a height of 56 meters and 12 stories. And every floor of the wooden structure contains interesting artifacts. Each of the 12 floors of Shibaozhai is dedicated to a famous general of the Three Kingdoms period (220-265AD), a local scholar or a renowned Chinese poet.

Shennong Stream is another tributary of the Yangtze River, and its fast-flowing, crystal clear water runs southwards through deep gorges. The stream races past large and small karst caves, flocks of swallows, sheer cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, three-colored springs, rapids, the ancient plank path, a suspended coffin in the cliff, groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formations.

--Shore excursion to The Three Gorges Dam Site. Arrive in Yichang at 1:00pm.
Three Gorges Dam, the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man and it has been a dream for several generations of Chinese people. The construction of the dam formally began in 1994. The body of the dam was completed in 2003, and the whole construction has been completed in 2009. It will be 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom.The tourists can get access to the top of the dam and enjoy different kinds of photo opportunities.
