Day 1Guilin Arrival

When your plane lands at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, your guide will be having already waiting for you in the arrival. Sit back and relax on the private car heading to your hotel in the downtown.

After having some rest, your guide will take you to enjoy a local lunch, refreshing yourself. Then start your trip from Elephant Trunk Hill Park – the landmark of Guilin City. It is even one of the most famous attractions in China.

Day 2Guilin

Today you will continue to explore the charming city itself. The guide will wait for you at the appointed time in the lobby after you have your breakfast. You will visit Seven Star Park with a Zoo, Fubo Hill, Jingjiang Princes' City and Yao Mountain.

Seven Star Park with the Zoo: This is what locals like most. If getting up early, you can see locals doing exercise, playing Taichi, Practicing calligraphy on the ground, singing together or evening playing different Chinese instruments there. Besides the beautiful lake view and lovely mountains, you might even meet some monkeys on the main road. There is a Zoo in the park with variety of animals there.

Fubo Hill: One of top 3 hills in the city. There are many inscriptions on precipices in the park with cool stories, don not miss them. Climb up to the hilltop for a bird’s eye view of the whole city center including elephant Trunk Hill.

Jingjiang Princes' City: This is considered to be another Forbidden City in China by CNN! It was built in 1372 of the Ming Dynasty, even 34 years earlier than that of the Forbidden City in Beijing! You can see the best-preserved city wall of the Ming Dynasty. It is now also one of the campuses of Guangxi Normal University. A visit to the Solitary Peak is included.

Yao Mountain with Round-trip Cable Cars: Yao Mountain is the highest mountain in Guilin city. The open cable cars will take you to the mountain top and send you down. It is a cool experience offering beautiful view of the whole Guilin. In spring, the azaleas cover the whole mountain, which is really awesome. The sunset view and sunrise view are very famous, especially after a summer rain.

Day 3Guilin

This day you will explore Guilin's outskirts for Crown Cave and Daxu Ancient Town with a local family visit.

Crown Cave: It was first visited in 1637 by a famous Chinese traveler named Xu Xiake. You may visit some caves before, but may not visiting a cave in a way that Crown Cave does. First take the elevator down 30 meters deep into the cave for the stalactite and stalagmite formation, which are exciting and cool. Then you can take a monorail to visit the most spectacular part of the cave.

Daxu Ancient Town with a Local Family Visit: The town is about 1 1/2 hours from the downtown Guilin by car and close to Crown Cave, at the east bank of the Li River. It has a history of over 1800 years. Walk on the 2-km bluestone street with well preserved buildings. It provides good opportunity for photography. You will also visit a local family whose host is enthusiastic and love to talk with you more about the local culture.

Day 4Guilin

You will step forward a bit further from downtown Guilin today. It is Pingan Village for Longsheng Rice Terraces, about 2-hour drive to the north from Guilin.

Lonsheng Rice Terraces: It is a must-see for people visiting Guilin and its neighbors as the first shot in Wild China filmed by BBC. Hiking is the most popular way to visit the area with beautiful scenery alongside. It takes only about 2 hours or so from the entrance to the hilltop for a complete hike in Ping’an Village thanks to the well sign-posted walk.

Viewpoint 1 is called Nine Dragons and Five Tigers and Viewpoint 2 is Seven Stars with Moon. Both offer a perfect view of the village and surrounding terraces. Take some good photos there!

Along the way you will also see locals dressing Zhuang clothes and accessories. Just say hi back to their lovely smiles. If lucky, you can see local women wash their long hair which has kept from their childhood.

Day 5Yangshuo

Today you will take a cruise down from Guilin to Yangshuo for the essence of Li River! No trip to Guilin is complete without taking a Li River Cruise. When getting to Yangshuo, you will have free time to explore the West Street and then take a bamboo rafting on Yulong River for one hour. Stay a sweet night at Yangshuo Town.

Li River Cruise: You will take the cruise from Mopanshan Pier, which is about 40 minutes drive away from downtown Guilin. The cruise usually starts at 9:00 and arrives at 13:00, depending on the water level. Sometimes it may reach at 14:00 during low-water-level season.

The cruise is a 3-story ship and the third-floor is an open deck for sightseeing and photography. You will have your own seat at either the first-floor or second floor. Your guide will remind you of the every highlight, in case you miss them. Fishermen riding a bamboo, cormorants catching fishes, local villages, lovely peaks and buffalos cooling themselves off in the water will be your lovely memory of taking the Li River Cruise.

Bamboo Rafting on Yulong River: As the most beautiful tributary of Li River, Yulong River is very popular with locals and visitors, thanks to the amazing natural scenery along with it. Taking a bamboo rafting on it is the best way to enjoy the stunning view. It is cool enough for young couples and safe enough for kids and the elders.

Good to know

Yangshuo is sweet and lovely to stay at night. Explore the West Street or have some drinks at the bar along the street watching the world go around.

Day 6Guilin

Today you will explore the area a bit more than most regular visitors do! You will visit Silver Cave and Shangri-la Theme Park on the way back to Guilin.

Shangri-la Theme Park: The park is half way along the road between Guilin and Yangshuo. With stunning natural scenery, the park is themed by ethnic culture. Visitors can see a wide range of Guilin and its neighboring areas’ nationalities and the relational culture. You will take a short boat ride taking you around the lake and watch various performances along the way telling different aspects of different ethnic culture. After getting off the boat, there are many displays of local handcrafts, such as buffalo horn carving and weaving. You can even see how locals work on them.

Day 7Guilin Departure

Today is the last day of your trip. Have a good sleep and enjoy a good breakfast in the morning to refresh yourself. Your guide and the driver will escort you to the airport for your homebound flight. The guide will help you check in and escort you to the security check point. Wish you a pleasant flight trip.
