The third excavation of Xi'an Terrocatta Army
After 30 years has for the third excavation is now possible. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage has approved the museum's dig of 200 square meters of the site this year.
On Jun. 13, 2009, an archaeological team assembled for the excavation work at pit No.1 at the Terracotta Army Museum.
People hope to find more clay figures and unravel some of the mysteries left behind by the "First Emperor of China." The working site is open to public; tourists may view the site when the dig gets underway today.
