Guilin Tours

Although Guilin is a relatively small city, it’s impossible to see all its highlights in just one day. Some places, like Yangshuo, deserve two or three days to fully experience, while others, such as the Longji Rice Terraces, lie deep in the mountains and require long journeys along winding roads.

The tour packages below are carefully designed by our experienced guides and trip advisors—most of whom are Guilin natives with nearly two decades in the tourism industry. Our goal is to help you explore more destinations while saving both time and money!

How Many Days Are Enough for Guilin?

For first-time visitors, three full days are usually enough to cover Guilin’s most famous attractions, including the Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill, Li River, Yangshuo, and the Longji Rice Terraces. To save time and reduce hotel costs, we recommend planning some sightseeing on both your arrival and departure days.

If you’ve been to Guilin before, feel free to contact us—we’ll be happy to design a customized itinerary based on your personal interests.

Which Month Is Best to Visit Guilin?

Thanks to its mild climate, Guilin is a year-round destination, with each season offering a unique charm.

  • March to June (Spring to Early Summer): This is the rainy season in Guilin, when mist drifts across the Li River, turning it into a living Chinese ink painting. The river scenery is at its most breathtaking during these months, with rolling karst hills wrapped in clouds and reflections shimmering in the water. Flowers bloom across the countryside, and the Longji Rice Terraces glisten with water like thousands of mirrors.
  • July and August (Summer): Ideal if you prefer less rain. Although temperatures can be hot, the vegetation is lush and vibrant. Showers may still occur but are usually brief.
  • September to November (Autumn): One of the best times to visit. The weather is drier, the landscapes remain green, and the Longji Rice Terraces turn a golden yellow. This is also peak season, so accommodation costs are higher.
  • December to February (Winter): The hills stay green, but it feels colder compared to other months. It’s the low season for tourism, making it a budget-friendly time to visit.

Guilin offers a variety of unique souvenirs, from delicious local foods to traditional handicrafts. You can easily find them in department stores, specialty shops, or bustling night markets.

  • Local Foods: Three-Flowers Wine, spicy pepper sauce, fermented tofu, Momordica grosvenori (luo han guo) tea, osmanthus cakes, taro sticks, and Guilin rice noodles.
  • Handicrafts: Stone paintings, handmade bamboo fans, colorful wax paintings, and embroidered bags from the Zhuang ethnic group.
