5-Day Tour of Guilin's Karst Landscapes and Yangshuo's Countryside

Upon arrival in Guilin, our guide will greet you at the train station or airport and escort you to your hotel.

After a brief rest, you will visit the Elephant Trunk Hill, Guilin's iconic landmark—a massive rock formation resembling an elephant drinking from the river.

Lunch today will be enjoyed at a local specialty restaurant, with the guide selecting an appropriate venue and recommending dishes based on your preferences. 

After lunch, you will head to Solitary Beauty Peak, located within Jingjiang Princes City (now the Wangcheng Campus of Guangxi Normal University) in central Guilin.

Together with Diecai Hill and Fubo Hill, it forms a prominent trio of peaks in the city. From the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Guilin. The peak resides within the ancient Jingjiang Princes' Palace, constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1372-1392 AD), which housed fourteen kings across twelve generations. 

After your visit to Solitary Beauty Peak, the guide and driver will escort you back to the hotel for rest. Today's tour concludes here.

Today, you will first visit Yao Mountain, the tallest mountain in Guilin's urban area, located 12 kilometers east of the city center. The peak stands at an elevation of 909 meters, with a relative height of 760 meters. You'll ascend by cable car to enjoy a panoramic view of Guilin and, in spring, admire the blooming azaleas along the mountainside.

After descending by cable car, you will visit Tea Plantation. Operated by the Guilin Tea Research Institute, this venue offers enriching tours and tea-tasting activities.

The hour-long journey begins amidst the tea bushes, where the characteristics of various tea types and the methods of producing white, green, yellow, and black teas are explained. Subsequently, visitors can observe a demonstration of the tea-drying process. At the tour's conclusion, guests are invited to taste premium teas selected from the garden.

There is a shop available for those who wish to purchase tea for family and friends, with no pressure to make any purchases.

After lunch, you will visit Reed Flute Cave, famous for its unique karst formations, including stone pillars, stalactites, and stalagmites, enhanced by colorful lighting.

After concluding today's itinerary, the guide and driver will escort you back to the hotel for some rest.

Following breakfast at the hotel, your guide and driver will meet you at the agreed time to transfer you to the Zhujiang Wharf in Guilin. Your journey begins with today's enchanting Li River cruise to Yangshuo.

During this three-hour voyage, you will be captivated by scenery reminiscent of a traditional Chinese ink painting: jagged peaks, lush bamboo groves, crystal-clear waters, slender bamboo rafts, and tranquil villages that glide quietly past, as if the boat is floating atop the verdant hills.

After disembarking, the guide will lead you on a walk through the pedestrian street, West Street. Following a brief stop, the guide will coordinate with the driver to take you to the hotel.

After checking in and enjoying a short rest, the guide will lead you to explore the picturesque countryside of Yangshuo by bicycle or e-bike.

After the tour, the guide and driver will return you to the hotel to rest, and the remaining time will be at your leisure.

After enjoying breakfast today, you will bid farewell to Yangshuo with your luggage and head to Xianggong Hill, which offers a magnificent vantage point to admire the breathtaking scenery of the Li River.

Located near Pingtou Town, 28 kilometers north of Yangshuo, Xianggong Mountain is one of the premier spots for capturing the majestic curves of the Li River. A 20-minute ascent leads you to views of the river's meandering flow and the breathtaking karst landscape.

One kilometer from Xianggong Mountain, there is a café with a spacious viewing terrace that offers sweeping views of the karst landscape. After descending from the mountain, we can pause there for a while to savor a cup of coffee before having lunch. Your local guide will recommend a specific restaurant based on your tastes and schedule.

After lunch, you will drive to the small town of Fuli near Yangshuo, where you will learn how to paint a traditional Chinese landscape on a paper fan.

Of course, your own artwork will be yours to take home as a gift, so be sure to earnestly learn how to paint the fan.

Once the fan painting concludes, the guide and driver will escort you back to your Yangshuo hotel, marking the end of the day's itinerary.

The itinerary in Guilin has concluded. At the appointed time, the guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to Guilin's train railway station or airport, where you will depart by train or plane.
